Core Areas of Responsibility
🧠 Policy Research & Market Tracking
- Monitor and summarize developments in RTO/ISO and non-RTO market developments, transmission planning, and other stakeholder initiatives.
- Flag emerging trends and regulatory risks—especially those relevant to large flexible load, hybrid resources, and advanced manufacturing/data infrastructure
- Draft issue briefs, talking points, and meeting prep memos for internal and external briefings
- Develop content for our client deliverables including newsletters and custom reports (including pulling meeting summaries, surfacing key risks, and formatting final drafts) —summarizing policy trends, client-relevant updates, and engagement opportunities
- Develop presentations for internal and external briefings
- Lead the development of client-facing slide decks, ensuring every presentation communicates ideas with impact, clarity, and creativity
- Translate dense regulatory or analytical content into digestible, audience-appropriate visuals and layouts—infographics, diagrams, annotated slides, and more
- Serve as a GQS observer in key stakeholder meetings (virtual or in-person) across ERCOT RTO and non-RTO regions as needed
- Track and summarize RTO and non-RTO stakeholder meetings, flagging actionable insights or follow-ups
- Support GQS and clients with fast-turnaround research and analysis in response to evolving market conditions or regulatory developments
🔍What we're looking for
- 1–3 years of experience or internships in energy, policy, law, economics, or government
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Strong interest in electricity markets, regulatory strategy, or reliability policy
- Familiarity with ERCOT is a plus (but not required)
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Bachelor’s degree required
