Christiana Ivanova

Senior Associate
[email protected]

Christiana brings deep experience in utility-scale solar and storage development, interconnection strategy, and market design across multiple U.S. regions. She has led commercial strategy efforts spanning WECC, SERC, SPP, MISO, and PJM, with a focus on accelerating project timelines, reducing interconnection risk, and optimizing projects to meet diverse customer needs.
Before joining GQS, Christiana served as the lead commercial strategy advisor for Sun2o Partners and held several strategy roles at Pine Gate Renewables. In these positions, she led multidisciplinary teams in building and advancing multi-gigawatt portfolios, piloted innovative development and offtake structures, and worked closely with load-serving entities and C&I customers to craft cost-competitive energy, capacity, and REC solutions. She also played an active role in RTO/ISO stakeholder processes to improve market rules, unlock new interconnection pathways, and support grid reliability amid rapid load growth.
Prior to her work in project development, Christiana was with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where she advised the governments of Indonesia and Colombia on long-term power system planning and future grid designs that meet emissions-reduction goals. Her analytical and modeling work contributed to publications on state-level decarbonization planning, energy equity, power system resilience, and microgrids. She began her career supporting land acquisition and community engagement for wind and solar projects at Apex Clean Energy.
Christiana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Biology from the University of Virginia. She is based in North Carolina.
